Andrew W. Mellon Fellowships in Humanistic Studies are available for college graduates planning to begin studies toward the PHD in Fall 2001. The Mellon Fellowship pays for the first year of studies 100% tuition and fees, health insurance if needed and a stipend of $15,000. Alumni/ae who are planning or considering graduate studies in Art History, Classics, Comparative Literature, Cultural Anthropology, Cultural Linguistics, english, Foreign Lanugage and Literature, History (including History of Mathematics or Science, and all Area Studies) Humanities, Music History and Theorry, Philosophy, Political Philosophy or Theory, Religion, Rhetoric, Ethnic or Women's Studies, or any interdisciplinary course of study based primarily on one of these fields may be eligible.
