On October 17, 2000, University President Thomas H. Kean and Chair of the Board of Trustees, Chip Andrews C'68 hosted an event at the Metropolitan Club in downtown Washington, D.C., to update area alumni/ae, parents, and friends on the progress of the Gateways Campaign. Following a cocktail reception President Kean and Chairman Andrews emphasized the significance of alumni/ae giving participation and gave a presentation on the state of the university.
