About Computing and Network Services

Computing and Network Services was created in May, 2003, along with Instructional Technology Services, from the former Academic Technology. In December 2004 the Telecommunications office joined CNS. CNS supports all enterprise computing and networking on campus, the Computer Initiative, helpdesk, PC repair and deployment, enterprise applications, and telecommunications services. CNS provides computing and data support to over 2200 faculty, staff, and students, and nearly 3000 computers on campus.

CNS has its offices in the basement of Brothers College and in the lower level of the Learning Center, as well as equipment rooms in Brothers College, LC, and Holloway. CNS has 16 full-time staff and about 2 dozen student employees who provide end-user support.

Mike Richichi is the director of CNS. The department is divided into User Support, Systems and Network Administration, Enterprise Applications, and Telecommunications, led by Betsy Black, Paul Coen, Scott Wood, and Wayne Hunter respectively. Computing and Network Services also works closely with Instructional Technology Services and Administrative Computing, providing technical infrastructure support and collaborating on projects.

CNS reports to Alan Candiotti, Assistant Vice President of University Technology, and also works with the University Technology Committee.
