Mozilla 1.5 available for on-campus users

Computing and Network Services has made Mozilla 1.5 available through the Application Explorer for all on-campus users. We strongly recommend that all users upgrade to this version, which has numerous stability and performance improvements from earlier versions of Mozilla. At this time, we are not forcing the installation, so users must go to the Application Explorer->DREW->Install Software->Mozilla, and then select the Mozilla 1.5 install for desktops or notebooks as appropriate:

This installation does not require that your computer be restarted and should take less than 5 minutes.

Also, we are now setting Mozilla to be your default Web browser, to mitigate issues with security vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer. More information is available in "Setting Mozilla as your Default Browser".

We will be making a downloadable version of the Drew-customized Mozilla 1.5 installation available after testing is complete. You may also download Mozilla from the mozilla.org website.
