Drew receives IBM award for Outstanding Performance
Drew University received an Outstanding Performance Award for First Quarter 2005 from the IBM/Lenovo Warranty Self-Maintainer Program. Drew has been in the IBM/Lenovo Warranty Self-Maintainer program since August of 2003, when the Computer Initiative package first included an IBM Laptop (the ThinkPad R40). Computing & Network Services' Hardware Support Specialist Rian Spivak (shown with award), is a certified IBM technician and is Drew's liaison to IBM.
The letter accompanying the award read "this recognition is based on your location's better than industry performance specific to efficient use and return of parts, fixing products right the first time, and operational processing of warranty activity."
Rian Spivak, in addition to being on staff with CNS, is a part-time student at Drew with a double major in Computer Science & Mathematics.
Drew has self-maintainer certifications with IBM/Lenovo and HP/Compaq for warranty repairs, facilitating a faster turnaround time for both laptops and desktops in the CI program.
