Email is changing! What you need to know....University Technology is pleased to announce availability of Drew's new email system to faculty and staff starting today on March 1.....
Novell GroupWise 7
GroupWise incorporates personal calendering and appointment scheduling, an improved WebAccess, better support for roaming users, support for BlackBerry wireless handhelds, and other advanced features to help you better manage email and appointments! Computing and Network Services (CNS) and Instructional Technology Services (ITS) are working closely together to provide you with these new services.
All users will be required to migrate their email as part of a phased transition to GroupWise during the coming months. Please visit the site below to learn all about GroupWise features, training opportunities, the migration timetable, and the steps you will need to take in order to switch to GroupWise.
Departments are strongly encouraged to switch to GroupWise as a unit. Doing so not only allows your department to take maximum advantage of GroupWise collaboration features such as the calendar, but enables us to offer special incentives, such as on-site training and migration assistance for your department. Department-wide migrations for faculty and staff departments are being scheduled by the ITS Staff Lab. Department directors and chairs are encouraged to contact the Staff Lab at x3043 to make arrangements. Also check out GroupWise Messenger!
For secure instant messaging within Drew, you can install GroupWise Messenger. Messenger is a secure alternative to third-party services like AOL Instant Messenger for instant messaging within the Drew community. Faculty, staff, and students can start using GroupWise Messenger today, even if you haven't yet switched to GroupWise email.
