GroupWise Sweeps Weeks Announced

CNS and ITS will be visiting all major campus office buildings during the weeks of July 24 and July 31 to help you move to GroupWise. Haven't switched to GroupWise yet? Already switched and have questions? This is a perfect opportunity to get assistance. Check the schedule at the end of this message to see when ITS and CNS staff will be in your building.

Questions and Answers

  • Do I need to switch to GroupWise during the given time slot?

You do not have to, although it is recommended. CNS and ITS staff will be available on site to help you get the GroupWise Client installed as well as move your existing mail and address books.

Please keep in mind that the absolute deadline for switching to GroupWise is November 1. Support resources may be more limited during the Fall semester as thousands of students will be switching to GroupWise during that time. Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to switch to GroupWise during the summer.

  • I'm already using GroupWise. Will you be able to answer my GroupWise questions?

Absolutely. Although the priority for the sweeps weeks is to get new GroupWise users up to speed, we will be happy to answer any other GroupWise questions you have.

  • What about my other computer problems? Will you be able to help with those when you are in my building?

No. The GroupWise building sweeps are for GroupWise-related issues only. Please contact the CNS Helpdesk at x3205 as usual for other issues.

  • What if I'm not around during the sweeps weeks? Can I still get help setting up GroupWise?

Of course. We understand that all faculty and staff may not be on-campus during the times when we are visiting buildings. The CNS Helpdesk (x3205), ITS Staff Lab (x3043), Faculty Lab (x3942), and STEL (x3003) are available to help you get set up with GroupWise. The web site located at http://depts.drew.edu/cns/groupwise/ is an excellent starting point for information on migrating to GroupWise.

  • How can I sign up for training workshops on GroupWise features?

Go to http://depts.drew.edu/its/training/ to sign-up for a scheduled workshop or request on-demand training.

  • How can I arrange for customized training on GroupWise features and best practices for myself or my department?

Contact the ITS Staff Lab (x3043) to discuss your training requirements.
