Awards and Fellowships:   Fulbright (Spain) 2001-2002 and 2002; Walker Scholarship (Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center), 2001;  Cambor Fellowship (fiction) 1999 and 2003; U.S. Department of Education FLAS Fellowship in Brazilian Literature, 1998.

Points of interest: Taught creative writing and literature at Wabash College prior to his arrival at Drew and has worked as a legal advocate, organizer, and translator for PCUN (the farmworkers' union of  Oregon) and for non-profits in Chiapas, Mexico.
