Testimonials:

“I am now back in Minnesota after a wonderful time in Ireland.  I want to again thank you for such a lovely conference.  It was a pleasure to participate, and I am deeply honored to have received Alan's surf-culture award.  You did a fantastic job pulling it all together: the presentations were stimulating, the food delicious, and the camaraderie second to none.  Oh, and the surf was going off!  Thank you again for allowing me to so enjoy this experience.”

“I LOVED my days in Bundoran! Thank you.”

“I just wanted to thank you again for an excellent conference experience. You did a magnificent job. I truly enjoyed meeting everyone and sharing in the conversation. It was very beneficial in a variety of ways to my own research interests and expanded my horizons. Please express my gratitude to John for his hospitality, Eugene for his ever-present camera work, Paddy for the fine food of La Sabbia, and Gemma and the staff at the Atlantic - they were all phenomenal. I will encourage my colleagues in other departments here at Longwood to attend in the future.”

“Thanks for everything - the invitation, the hospitality, the conference and all!  It was truly a wonderful experience”

“The conference was absolutely fabulous, such a great combination of academics and the real world -- I had a very good time.”

“Una Lappin (Treasurer of the Yeats Society) and several of our members who attended, and I, all enjoyed the sessions and the lunch on the Thursday. We were made to feel most welcome, and enjoyed representing the Yeats Society, and meeting Irish and American scholars, writers and lecturers. I am sure that your students and faculty enjoyed the conference, and the opportunity of visiting Bundoran and the wild Atlantic coast.”

“A BIG THANK YOU to you and Patrick and John and their teams for making this a wonderful experience and a very stimulating as well as relaxing weekend!”

“I just wanted to email to say thanks to the committee for organising such a great conference. I loved presenting at it and met some fantastic people who I hope to work with to develop some research on surfing.”

“I want to thank you for the opportunity to be part of a presentation panel.  I hope it offered  something helpful and positive to the overall conference.  You gave me a chance that I have not had as yet here in the states, and for this I am grateful. It was a good learning opportunity for me as well. This venue offered people of many backgrounds an opportunity to connect and learn from each other in ways that most conferences  do not.  This , I believe, is one of the strongest points of the conference.  The smaller panel sizes also allowed the opportunity for the audience to ask questions and to connect perspectives within the context of the various panels. The timing of the sessions was also convenient for attendees to sit in on each program, and there was also enough variety in sessions from which attendees could choose. The evening entertainment gave a range of creative  styles that everyone seemed to enjoy  and added to the craic! The site for the conference, and accommodations, were well situated, furthermore, and was easily accessible. I do hope this conference will be held at some time in the future.  Thank you so much for a great experience.”

“Firstly I must congratulate the organizing committee of the Transatlantic Conference on a task very well executed.  It was a truly enjoyable weekend.  The combination of History, Education and Entertainment all complimented each other remarkably.  The cost of the whole weekend as advertised in brochure was exceptional value.  The refreshments provided all through the weekend from the opening launch right up to the Gala Banquet were well well worth the fee and were of an exceptionally high standard for this type of event.  In particular the opening and closing nights.  The entertainment on the three nights alone were second to none and would be worth this fee alone. I wish you every success in any events you undertake and hope that we can welcome The Transatlantic Connections Delegates back to Bundoran again in the not so distant future. Thank you for the opportunity to speak at the Food Culture Panel it was thoroughly enjoyable.  Many many connections and friends were made.”
