Are you passionate about living healthy?
Do you like to use creative means to inspire, motivate others?
The Health Nuts (formerly known as the Wellness Peers) are students who promote ways to stay healthy physically, emotionally and socially in college. They are a small, dedicated, fun group of people that coordinate and co-sponsor health promotion activities on campus and electronically. Some of the life issues addressed include:
Stress
Sexuality
Healthy eating
Weight management & Body image
Personal fitness
Healthy relationships
Sleep
Social responsibility
Personal safety
Depression and anxiety
Alcohol
and more!
The Health Nuts are also creators of:
- The Stall Talk newsletter…Coming soon to a residence hall restroom near you! Stall Talk is a wellness newsletter written by students, for students. There are typically two issues per month.
- Themed Karaoke twice a month throughout Spring 2007!
- The Nutrition Bulletin Board in the Commons. Each month an aspect of healthy eating at college is displayed.
Future initiatives we hope to explore include:
The creation and promotion of facebook profiles, podcasts, PSAs and digital stories to promote and highlight campus events, activities, and programs related to student health and well-being.
If you would like to get involved, please contact: Kathy Werheim, Coordinator of the Health Promotion & Wellness Program, TolleyBrown Lounge, extension 3596 or send an e-mail to: wellness@drew.edu.
