2004

  • Armuth Tabbed National Coach of The Year
  • Drew Fencer In Top 10 NCAA Finish
  • Drew Women's Basketball Defeats CSI in ECAC Metro Championship
  • In March 2004, Drew’s student newspaper, The Acorn, won several top awards from the New Jersey Collegiate Press Association including first places in news writing, sports writing, and layout and design. The paper also won honorable mentions for opinion writing, entertainment/critical writing, and a third place for general excellence.
  • In June, CLA transfer student Carly Todd was awarded a Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship that pays up to $30,000 a year for two years. Todd graduated from Ocean County College with a 4.0 GPA in the school’s honors program and plans to major in Theatre Arts.
  • In August, "The Princeton Review" rated Drew #5 in the nation in the category "Great College Theatre."  See more at www.princetonreview.com.
  • Also in August, Focus America, the creation of Drew grad Shelly Nice Zimmerman, won a daily Point of Light award from the Points of Light Foundation. Focus is based in Convent Station, NJ, and provides structured service learning opportunities for high school and college students while addressing the needs of low-income communities.
