(B.A., Occidental College; B.D., Drew University; S.T.M. and D.Phil., Oxford University) Henry and Annie M. Pfeiffer Professor of Religion. The longest serving member of the Drew faculty, Professor Pain has recently completed a thirteen year term as Dean of the Caspersen School of Graduate Studies at Drew and returned to full-time teaching on the faculty. An expert in the history of Christian thought and Eastern Orthodoxy, Professor Pain also advises students interested in studying religion and theology for a semester at Oxford University through the Oxford Program.
