Curriculum

To visit our course listings please click here. Or you can click on each course to visit its description from the majors/minor requirements. There are many other courses offered that aren't necessarily required for the major. Be sure to visit all of it to get the full picture of our curriculum.

Remember that in order to register for any theatre courses (if you aren't an incoming freshman), you will need to either get the professor's signature or sign up for the course at the majors meetings. All courses require instructor approval.

Requirements for a Theatre Major

  1. REQUIRED COURSES
  2. At least eight additional credits in theatre arts to be selected in consultation with and approved by the major adviser.
  3. At least two credits in dance.
  4. Active participation in the department's production program is required. Majors must receive program credit in at least one production activity during each semester spent on campus.
  5. Majors are also expected to attend all departmental productions, both major and workshop, and all special departmental meetings and functions. These functions include departmental strikes and postproduction discussions.

Requirements for a Theatre Minor

For a formal minor in theatre arts, students must complete the following schedule of courses, which provides a solid core of classroom study with some practical experience, for a total of 26 credits:

Shakespeare Workshop

November 20th, 2009 4:30-6:30pm

Learn the essentials for Shakespeare! Taught by Dennis Turney (CLA Faculty). This will be especially helpful for auditions for As You Like It in the spring. Space is limited sign up sheet is in the lobby!
