Music may be created in an infinite variety of ways, from completely spontaneous to tightly controlled. The range of symbolically describing sonic shapings is similarly varied. The description is the "score."
A musical score is a set of symbols ranging from verbal/written instructions to pictographic representations. Moving from the idea to the score entails dealing with the main ingrediants of the spacetime continuum:
