Exhibit: Who is My Neighbor? The Life and Work of Mildred Moody Eakin. March 26-April 30, 2007 In addition to displays in the Main Library lobby, described below, exhibits are also regularly mounted in the United Methodist Archives Center by the Drew University Methodist Library and the General Commission on Archives and History for The United Methodist Church. These exhibits may be viewed during the Archives' regular hours or online; see the Drew University Methodist Library site for more details. Descriptions of previous Library exhibits are now available on a separate page. Current Exhibit:Who is My Neighbor? The Life and Work of Mildred Moody Eakin.Mildred Moody Eakin, a religious education professor, was the first, full-time woman faculty member at Drew and was a pioneer in the field of multi-culturalism and the ministry of reconciliation. S he was at the center of "The Drew Studies," which were initiated in the 1930s. These groundbreaking studies evaluated Protestant Sunday School material for racism, anti-Semitism, and other expressions of intolerance. T his exhibit reflects the recent research of Dr. Sloane Drayson-Knigge and Dr. Janet R. Stafford and draws on the University Archives for materials in the display.
