United Methodist History Doctrine
and Polity Online Courses
System Requirements
Minimum system requirements
for accessing the course
via the World-Wide Web. Students are responsible to see that their systems meet the following minimum requirements before they register to take the course online:
- A Windows compatible computer with a Pentium III or higher processor
- Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP or Windows NT operating system
- 128 MB of RAM and no less than 10 MB of free space on the hard drive (additional RAM and hard-drive space will significantly improve performance)
- Browser requirements:
- Mozilla 1.7.5 (or higher), Firefox 1.0.3 (or higher) or Internet Explorer 6.0 (or higher)
- Asymetrix Neuron 6.5, a browser plug-in (available without charge) which students must download and install themselves
Note: Download Neuron 6.5 from the Asymetrix Learning System's FTP site, ftp://ftp.asymetrix.com/pub/tb2/neuron/6x/cbtsystems/neuron65.exe. This is a large file (7167kb) and will take some time to download. Save it to your Temp folder. The file is self-extracting; to install simply double-click on it, and then be sure to set the plug-in for non-secure mode.
- Modem requirements:
- A (reliable) Internet service provider (to access the course off-campus via the Web)
- and/or a network card (for access on campus via the Drew network)
- A modem operating at 28.8 Kb or higher (a faster modem will be a distinct advantage)
